BTS is breaking social media records once again, this time on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.’
The boy band’s latest appearance on the show – which saw the members visit Katzs’s Deli, ride the subway and perform in Grand Central Terminal – boasted all-time record high social media engagement for ‘The Tonight Show’ franchise. According to NBC, the episode drew in 4.2 MILLION social media interactions across Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
The figure marks a new record in 2020 for a single episode of any entertainment/non-sports TV program, according to NBC. In terms of all late night programming, the episode ranks just second to the Emma Stone/BTS episode of SNL in April of 2019.
Jimmy Fallon reacted to the ratings achievement on Twitter, thanking the BTS Army in the process:
Wow. This is amazing. Thank you #BTSARMY and the #FalPals!!!!! You guys crushed it!! https://t.co/CUpDSCVSZf
