A group always on top of the latest trends, NCT Dream is no stranger to innovation. Their ‘The Dream Show 3 – Dreamscape’ Tour stop at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles was just an example of the septet’s ability to create new experiences for their fans. This brand new show from the group brought their older hits in reimagined live mixes, with their newer tracks harder hitting than expected. After about a year away from the States, 7Dream (minus member Renjun, on a hiatus for health reasons) were ready to once again prove themselves to the crowd awaiting them. They hit the stage with recent b-side “BOX”, which has lyrics with empowering messaging of never staying within expectations for yourself. They stuck with this message throughout the concert, with almost 30 songs full of choreography and vocal power that’d make any concertgoer leave in awe.

The members throughout the show were eager to speak to the audience, but mainly kept it to short quips besides leading member Mark, who took his time during their ending speeches to speak about an experience he recently had while they were on tour in South America. Mark recounted speaking to a Korean-born translator who grew up in Chile- “He said, ‘It was kind of hard at first, but as K-Pop grew, it became a pride [of mine] to be Korean.’ That was one of the most exciting things I’ve ever heard. That really motivated me to become more of a great K-Pop idol, and do what I do…You guys are also really a part of something great and I just wanna thank you all for making K-Pop so great and LA is really a great city to perform in.”

The show seemed to be split into sections based on concepts that Dream has executed throughout their career, with the first quarter of the show being dark, mature songs with a sexier edge, the second being bright concept songs with fun, easy to sing-along moments, and the third moving back to edgier concepts before the last brought fans to the classic NCT Dream- this sort of bittersweet, nostalgic vibe that they always seem to go back to eventually. This section made for a heartwarming yet jarring end to the concert, leaving their NCTzens wanting more. Overall, the concert was a great guide into who NCT Dream is and what gems their discography holds underneath the surface.

Catch them on 2024 NCT DREAM WORLD TOUR < THE DREAM SHOW 3 : DREAM( )SCAPE > in NORTH AMERICA throughout September and in Europe in October!
